Emma Wall is renowned for unforgettable melodies and impressive
guitar work. Self-taught, Wall's style of guitar is non-traditional,
dynamic and impressive. Celebrated for her expressive stage
presence and powerful lyrics, Wall has established a
solid following in the independent music scene.
Singer-songwriter-guitarist
Emma Wall began her music career in 1993 with her first
live appearance at Melbourne's renowned, The Punters Club.
During her musical apprenticeship, Wall worked to fine-tune
her musical style and performance in that most unforgiving
arena, the Australian pub circuit. As a result, Emma Wall
has developed a contemporary musical style and striking
live presence that works with the crowd. Critics and fans
alike emphasise Wall's ability to engage her audiences with
a stage presence that combines easy-going simplicity and
thought-provoking content.
Emma
Wall also proves her interest in music beyond 'the performance'
to include organisation and production of live events. Co-organiser
of numerous music showcases and community festivals over the
years, including the recent 'Music For Life' and Melbourne's
International Women's Fairday, Wall demonstrates there's no
limit to her musical skills or commitment. In these events,
Wall has utilised her music and profile to further public
awareness, fundraise for local and international causes, and
open a performance space for up-and-coming artists.
At home, and abroad, Emma Wall performs comfortably alongside
an impressive list of artists. Wall has featured in numerous
high-profile festivals and music carnivals, including the
Ottawa Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Frankston
International Guitar Festival and the Australian Music Foundation's
concert, Australia Day Local and Live.
In
addition to Wall's national touring, Emma tours yearly throughout Canada, receiving rave reviews from critics and fans.
After recording a live CD and taking a well earned rest, Emma
Wall is gearing up for a new studio album in 2006
